Just a small town kid
Jason grew up in a very small town 60 miles outside of Cleveland, Ohio. He lived there most of his life. “I Just love the small town feel! Not too crowded! Plenty of space to reflect!” He was involved with sports through middle school, playing basketball-baseball-and track. As he entered highschool and throughout the final 3 years of grade school, working nights stocking shelves and cleaning floors for Save A Lot was a constant.
He joined the military at the age of 21 and served for 7 years as a Security Forces member. During his tenure in the Air Force, he was deployed to numerous overseas locations, including Diego Garcia during the infamous "SHOCK AND AWE" campaign, guarding B-2 stealth bombers at the onset of "OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM" Shortly thereafter, He volunteered to redeploy into Iraq to one of the first bases taken over by U.S. ground troops (Tallil Airbase - near the city of Nasiriyah). "Our job, after it was taken over and secured, was to move in and maintain security of that particular installation through controlling access points in and around the base, patrolling both inside and outside the wire, and by using advanced security systems to monitor any security breaches and troop movement."
Upon his return home to Macdill AFB, Jason continued his regular duties by providing security for high profile generals and distinguished guests at U.S. CENTCOM and SOCOM, as well as the newly established coalition compound for our foreign dignitaries. "You had no idea who you were going to come across at any given moment. We were surrounded by War Commanders and politicians; the A-LIST celebrities of the military/government, if you will. Presidents and Vice Presidents would even visit on occasion. You had to be at the top of your game! You had to look sharp! You had to be sharp!"
"It was certainly an honor and privilege to serve in such an historic time in our nation's history. I was able to see some beautiful places, meet some amazing people, build lifelong bonds. I will forever be transformed through my experiences in the military and for that, I am extremely grateful."
After an honorable discharge from the military in 2007, Jason went on to achieve a B.A. in accounting from Kent State University while excelling in various roles with the Veteran's Health Administration, to include positions working closely in collaboration with VA Directors and Department Chiefs. He is a self-taught photographer/fine artist and spent the past few years on the road capturing landscapes and wildlife, among other things. He currently resides in Greenville, SC and is looking for opportunities to grow and develop.
